It seems RGB16 is hard coded somewhere 6 Years, 1 Month ago  
Hi, all,

Even I setup the <dfbsettings> section in morphinerc.xml as attached, i.e. all pixel format are all ARGB, but I can find that there exist RGB16 setting when do dfb_surface_init(). I do not know where this setting come from. I try to gdb the morphinetv, unfortunately, gdb seems not to retrieve all necessary source code. Does anyone address this issue?

The pixelformat that is used in dfb_surface_init() depends on the pixelformat of your graphics- or videolayer that you are using. You can determine the native pixelformat by using dfblayer.
Internally we are using ARGB but if your layer only supports RGB16, the last blit from DirectFB can only be done by using this pixelformat.

I cannot find out where is the source of RGB16 setting. I cannot let GDB to retrieve the source code using "directory" command, so I cannot gdb morphine.tv which depends on several packages however I got the source code of these package.

Hi alanz,

then it looks like your primary layer doesn't support ARGB. Can you verify this with the dfblayer tool?

I used the same config to run gtk-demo, it is ok. Right now, I have to set checkpoints in DF code to figure out where the config is passed ( 114) Fusion/Object: == Layer Region Pool ==
